This one does have a home! But is still for sale I believe. Would be great to get the opportunity to do more variations of this one. It would look great in another colourway. I think the aluminium stuff will be to commission only from now on. lol so if you want to order some feel free! This pic really shows how the metal works under light!
This is Ko-ko. sorry about the awful picture but you get the idea. This is much more experimental and no metal shows through. The paint has been layered in places even has some rough areas. I was never quite pleased with this one, something in the composition was wrong right from the start. Again it would be nice to find a home for it, before i re-use the sheet. it is large though. It’s an interesting piece I think.
The gloss idea was never about perfection, I hoped you would always see the hand made elements even the mistakes and slips. This idea doesn’t sit well with commercial galleries though , they seemed to think that people would demand perfection. I get that we are used to seeing slick , technically excellent images now and we can buy them from ikea or habitat. Surely though there is something to be said for seeing the journey that an artist has been on to make a piece. It’s the humanity in the thing that gives the beauty some depth. This is the dichotomy that I explored with these super slick materials and my hands!

lol. thanks babe! yea I think that I will. The work I am doing now is helping me build a visual identity for myself. I am learning about what I want the paintings to say and feel like. When I am comfortable with that I think that it will be easy to step into other modes of work. Printing , drawing and the aluminium stuff too!
